Thornford Park, part of Priory Healthcare, is an independent 133 bedded hospital set in 23 acres of parkland on the outskirts of Newbury, Berkshire - close to the Hampshire borders.

Our top rated forensic hospital provides services for male service users detained under the Mental Health Act (1983), who require care in conditions of medium and low security. We offer long-term treatment and rehabilitation for patients with enduring mental disorders and forensic histories, who present with multiple problems, challenging and high risk behaviours and complex care needs.

Our newly opened, 10 bedded, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), provides care and treatment for adult male service users who are experiencing an acutely disturbed phase of a serious mental disorder.

We are currently looking to recruit Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our professional and highly skilled team. Hours of work will be 375 hours per week (3 x 125 hour shifts a week), including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Part time hours will also be considered.

Successful candidates will be motivated to work in a service that offers involvement and empowerment to service users with complex and/or enduring mental health needs; enabling our patients to build on their existing strengths and feel positive about their lives.

You will be a key part of the multidisciplinary team, providing clinical support (assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating care plans) and care using person-centred care approaches and encouraging our service users to have a real voice in their individualised care pathways.
