Sedgley House

Sedgley House is a male mental health rehabilitation service providing full multidisciplinary inputs including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry and vocational training. Using Cambian’s unique Active Care™ programme, patient-centred care plans are devised to match individual’s needs.

Job Role

Cambian Sedgley House is looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse for their specialist MH site in the West Midlands

You will need to be a qualified Registered Mental Health or Learning Disabilities Nurse. You will be a strong team player, confident and motivated and well organised. Patience and commitment are essential, but above all you’ll be someone with a genuine desire to help others.

You will be encouraged to contribute to, and influence the development of active care. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you must be able to show initiative, demonstrating clear decision making and organisational skills. You will be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual patient programs of care. You will have a focus on risk assessment and risk assessment strategies, ensuring that the requirements of the care program approach are met.

Additionally you will support empowerment of the patients with particular regard to their dignity, rights and advice.

Individuals should be fully conversant with the Mental Health Act and its recent updates; have an understanding of the latest nursing practices as well as the local and national agenda’s that impact on nursing practice and patient care.

Full induction training is given. You will also learn from some of the most dedicated and inspirational people in our profession and just like our young people and Service Users you will be learning all the time through our on-going mentoring and support.
