Here at Stockton Hall Hospital in York, we currently have vacancies for Staff Nurses. We are a medium secure 112 bedded unit spanning over 6 wards, caring for people with mental illness, personality disorders, learning disabilities.

Job Purpose:

  • Provide a high standard of care to people with mental illness, personality disorders and learning disabilities
  • Contribute to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress
  • Ensure that patient care is maintained at all times within the parameters of operational policies and governing legislation
  • Promote a supportive culture based on open and honest communication and reflective practice

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent team working skills
  • A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach – our unit operates 24 hours, 7 days a week, and our nursing staff work shift patterns, bank holidays and nights.


  • First level nurse in the field of mental health or learning disability (RMN or RNLD)
