Registered Nurse - Child

Job Description

Do you want to work for one of the UK’s largest Trusts, situated in the heart of the “Garden of England”, just a stone’s throw from London and with easy, fast access to France and beyond?

We have excellent full and part time opportunities across our Padua Ward within the Specialist Services Division at The William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

Padua Ward is a general paediatric ward caring for both medical and surgical children. It has a highly skilled and supportive staff of Paediatric nurses of all grades. We are proud of our robust Preceptorship programme for newly qualified Paediatric nurses and the provision of on-going CPD provision designed especially for Paediatric nurses. Padua also has a busy Childrens Assessment Unit housed within the ward – all staff rotate through this area gaining experience in triage and assessment skills.

We are looking for people who have some previous experience of working in the specialty, but we also encourage applications from newly qualified nurses or those from other health care environments and will support and develop you to reach your full potential as a highly skilled and experienced nurse.

We will provide you with a structured Preceptorship programme, a range of rotational opportunities to enable development of skills across patient pathways, and access to development opportunities with our excellent links with the University of Kent.

We aim to provide safe and effective care that exceeds the expectations of our patients and the public and we are looking for excellent nurses who embrace our Trust values and care so that:

  • People feel cared for as individuals
  • People feel safe, reassured and involved
  • People feel that we are making a difference
  • People feel teamwork, trust and respect sit at the heart of everything we do
