Registered Nurse
S.C.B.U. and Woodlands Ward

Hours: Full and part time hours available
Band: 5
Salary: £21,909 to £28,462 per annum (pro rata)

Essential requirements: Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC Register.

An opportunity has arisen for Registered Nurses to come and join our friendly team on the Paediatric Ward and our Special Care Baby Unit.

Woodlands Ward is a general Paediatric ward with 22 beds including one high dependency room and a children’s assessment unit. We also have a surgical day unit which operates monthly, seeing up to 25 children covering General Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmology, Urology and Orthopaedics. The ward also takes acute surgical cases.

SCBU has 7 cots and takes babies from 32 weeks gestation. It is a small friendly unit that specialises in family centred care. We have “Baby Friendly” accreditation for our support given to breastfeeding mothers and all our SCBU staff nurses are encouraged to pursue the neonatal degree course (one academic year) after a period of around 2 years preceptorship.
