Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced Band 5, you will have plenty of opportunity to learn new skills and further you’re career in a truly unique setting here at Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust.
You see what makes us unique, apart from being based in beautiful Gloucestershire, is that we’re also one of the first Trusts to offer a truly integrated service. What that means is our nurses’ work as one with occupational therapists, social workers, physiotherapists, reablement workers and urgent care practitioners to deliver the highest quality care to our patients. It means our patients and their family are given all of the solutions available to them under one umbrella service. As a nurse led hospital this means you will have greater autonomy and ultimately gain more job satisfaction by giving the best patient service. You will be working to agreed pathways, i.e. discharge, end of life and frail older person.
We understand that moving to a new hospital can feel quite overwhelming, so as a newly qualified nurse you would also be assigned a preceptor, this person will help you find your feet, show you how we work and ensure you are able to perform your job to the best of your ability during the first few months of being a Community Hospital Nurse.
Working as part of our team at Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust in a community hospital setting, you will have a better and closer relationship with your patients and you will get more time to spend with them. You’ll have greater support to deliver the service you know is right, plus the way we work enables you to have a manageable yet diverse workload, so you’ll find it interesting yet enjoyable. If you join us, you will notice quickly that professional development and a preceptorship programme is high on the agenda and opportunities are available to gain experience in a community setting and in other services we offer should you be interested.
We welcome applications from RMHN on condition that you undertake the ‘Multi Professional Common Foundation Programme’ at UWE, within an agreed timeframe. You will be supported by the Nursing and Quality Professional Practice Team.
So, if you love what you do but wish you could work in a way that would be better for you and your patients, working here will be like a breath of fresh Gloucestershire air. We are looking for highly motivated nurses with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who wish to develop their careers in a friendly, local environment and help maintain our high standards of care, you will work as part of a multi- disciplinary team, delivering an excellent quality service to our patients and their families. In return you will get great training and development opportunities, free car parking and the chance to work as part of a truly integrated team.
