Cardiology Specialty at Kettering is a rapidly expanding service offering direct access for the procedure of primary percutaneous coronary intervention. The Cath lab experience for patients experiencing Acute Chest pain is the only Centre in the county currently offering this with excellent patient outcomes.
We also have a newly purpose built 12 bedded CCU and 14 bedded ward environment with daily support for Cardiac Failure Nurses and direct access to cardiac rehab. Due to continuing expansion within our cardiology services, including the development of a new 24/7 cardiac outreach service, we have a number of band 5 staff nurse vacancies both in Cath lab and CCU.
If you are an experienced nurse or paramedic wishing to gain experience in cardiology services, either in Cath lab or CCU and Oakley, this will be the ideal opportunity for you.
Also if you are newly qualified or about to complete your nurse training, our team will be prepared to support you with your preceptorship and development as a nurse within a very busy Cardiac Centre. We have a Practice Development Nurse linked to the specialty who will support you.
The Cath Lab as well as providing an emergency service for primary PCI, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, also provide elective day case procedures Mon-Fri within a busy 13 bedded ward supporting 3 catheter labs operational every day of the week, for both interventional and device procedures. We are expanding our services further to provide cath lab services, not only to PPCI patients out of hours, but also on Saturdays and Sundays for in-patients requiring Cath lab intervention.
If either area sounds interesting to you, or you would like to get a better understanding of what we do, please contact me to arrange an informal visit, or if you are confident this is something you’d like to do, please submit an application.
A genuine interest in cardiology and nursing within this truly multidisciplinary team environment is essential.
