Phoenix Children’s Unit works closely with Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Cleft team caring for children with Cleft Lip and Palate. We take acute and elective admissions and as well as caring for children with a wide variety of medical conditions including oncology we deal with the following surgical specialities i.e. plastic surgery, General and Orthopaedic surgery, Burns reconstruction, ENT and Maxillary Facial. We also have an 8 bedded assessment unit. Your development will be supported by two dedicated high dependency facilitators who offer valuable education opportunities under the guidance of a mentor as part of the team. We can offer an excellent preceptorship and induction programme plus access to ongoing professional education and development. The wide variety of specialities cared for on Phoenix will be invaluable when considering further career options.
We are looking for Band 5 and Band 6 enthusiastic and highly motivated Children’s nurses to join our friendly team of established nurses; you should be keen to work within this progressive area of children’s services. The children’s team provides the child and family with a holistic hospital experience and continuity of care offering them a pre-assessment prior to surgery, pre and post-operative care and a discharge follow up. All aspects aimed at maintaining the standards set out in the National service framework benchmarks.

All Registered Nurse/Midwife/Theatre Practitioner or ODP you will be required to take a Drug Calculation Test. (please note 100% pass mark required)
All HCA/HCSW/MCA will be required to take a Literacy and Numeracy test (80% pass required) as part of the pre employment process.
