Band 5 Registered Nurses

Do you want to help drive change and deliver excellence of care to our general surgical patients, following national gold standard principles? Our Surgical Unit is currently seeking dedicated, motivated dynamic Nurses who have a passion for delivering high quality patient care to join the team.

The Surgical Unit comprises of:
SAU (Surgical Admissions Unit)

The Surgical Admissions Unit is a 10 bedded unit and houses emergency admissions from the Emergency Department or the GP referral route. Patients are assessed, stabilised and then transferred to the appropriate ward for further care and treatment. Ward 31
Ward 31 is a 24 bedded, mixed sex ward which houses elective and emergency admissions. Emergency patients are admitted via the surgical assessment unit. Patients admitted to this ward are predominantly undergoing colorectal surgery however other general surgical procedures are also undertaken. Ward 32
Ward 32 is a 24 bedded, mixed sex ward which also houses elective and emergency admissions. Emergency admissions are admitted via the surgical assessment unit. Patients admitted to this ward are a mixture of urology patients, general surgical patients and vascular patients that have been repatriated to King’s Mill following surgery at the Queens Medical Centre.
