About the wards:
Deene Acute Surgical Unit– is fast paced Surgical Emergency Admissions Ward, with 21 beds and a 4 trollied GP direct access area. This area cares for all Surgery and Urology emergency patients for the first 72 hours of their stay. It is an innovative and exciting area to work. The team are well established and welcoming. You will have a close working relationship with the On call team of Doctors and our team of Emergency Surgical Nurse Practitioners. A Sister works clinically every day, so you will be well supported in this environment.

Barnwell Trauma Unit – Orthopaedics offers you variety in nursing. Barnwell B and C are two linked orthopaedic trauma wards admitting patients with all trauma injuries. You will have the opportunity to hone acute pre and post-operative care skills, developing a range of expertise to nurse patients with acute needs. You will work alongside skilled Trauma Nurse Practitioners and the medical team.
We also deliver excellent post-acute care with our highly skilled therapy team, focussed on enabling patient to rehabilitate and enabling you to learn to manage more complex long term care needs.
The nursing team rotate between these two wards to develop and practice a variety of nursing skills within the specialty of orthopaedics.

Ashton Ward- is an elective orthopaedic ward providing specialist care for patients receiving a variety of major joint replacement and other elective surgery. You will have the opportunity to develop a broad scope of clinical skills in acute post-operative orthopaedic care and enhance recovery. You will develop expertise in the management of post-operative rehabilitation with the therapists on the ward.

Day Case Unit
The Surgical Day Case Unit in the Treatment Centre is an area which has 20 trollies caring for patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. This is a fast paced environment which thrives on providing patients with quality care.
We have recently opened a satellite ENT Day Case Unit which specialises in ENT day case procedures.
These posts will be on a rotational basis between the two areas offering excellent training and development opportunities.
We can offer part time or full time opportunities. The existing team on Surgical Day Case Unit is experienced, fun and are keen to welcome new team members.
