We are actively recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated registered general and mental health Band 5 nurses who want to make a difference working as part of a dynamic team.

The ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative is essential. Our clinical areas will provide you with a period of supervision, support and continued professional development to enable you to achieve your maximum potential. We work closely with Northampton University who provide modules for the degree and masters pathway e.g. mentorship, dementia, older adults, stroke care and reablement.

We have a wide range of posts on offer which includes full and part time positions to suit the needs of both successful candidates and our existing clinical teams. Applicants who have a ward/area preference hours required should specify this in the supporting evidence section of your application.

NASEBY WARDS are an elderly care unit consisting of 20 male and 20 female acute medical beds. Our patients present during acute periods of illness but many of them are frail, living with co morbidity or dementia, or are within the last 12 months of life. We require general and mental health nurses with a very special blend of skill and character, who are able to provide excellent patient care for this complex group of patients. Kindness, patience and compassion are essential traits, along with a desire to continually develop clinical skills and knowledge. If you would like the opportunity to make a difference in this very special area of nursing Naseby A & B are the wards for you. To enhance your practice we offer access to the older adults and dementia specific modules at Northampton University. Mental health nurse applicants will be given additional support to assist them in caring for our patients in a general medicine environment.

LAMPORT & TWYWELL WARDS are a sub-acute area, which is designed with a facilitated early discharge focus. Patients who are admitted to Lamport or Twywell Ward will be identified from Urgent Care and base wards at Kettering General Hospital and transferred to these wards after the acute phase of their illness has subsided. You will work closely with the physiotherapist, occupational therapist and care managers to facilitate discharge. To enhance your practice we offer access to the reablement module at Northampton University.

HC PRETTY WARDS are a 35 bedded general medicalward consisting of 18 Female and 17 Male beds. The ward specializes in Diabetes and Endocrine medicine. We have excellent team working in place and a supportive environment to assist you with your professional development. We work closely with the multidisciplinary team that includes Diabetic Nurse Specialists and the Vascular Foot Team. An interest in complex wound dressings is desirable but not essential. We have regular educational evenings arranged by our Consultants which we encourage all staff to attend. An interest in discharge planning would be beneficial as we can have complex discharges.
