A new state-of-the-art hospital has recently opened in Whitehaven, representing the single biggest investment in healthcare in west Cumbria for over 50 years. This is a really important milestone for our organisation which will allow us to further expand our range of local services as we continue to improve safety and quality. The modern hospital is something for our staff and the local community to celebrate.

The Trust provides a comprehensive range of general acute hospital services; we are currently working with the Commissioners to help develop a comprehensive service for the whole of Cumbria, which will work cooperatively with other providers in the area.

Based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, we are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nurses to work within an evolving Department.

Vacancies exist throughout the Medical Business Unit on the following ward areas:-

Elm B (EMI) - 6075hrs permanent

Elderly Care Floor - up to 16975hrs permanent & 26hrs maternity leave cover for up to 12 months

Larch C (Respiratory) - 375hrs permanent & 375hrs maternity leave cover for up to 12 months

Willow B (Renal Medicine) - up to 104hrs permanent

Staff will be supported to undertake appropriate training and development plans will be tailored to meet individual needs.

These vacancies offer the opportunity to be part of a growing, vibrant team, providing effective health care to the people of north Cumbria and working to bring about dynamic change in the way patients requiring health care are managed in north Cumbria.

You will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care, operating as a member of the multidisciplinary team. You will also contribute as requested by the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse to the smooth running of the unit.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses with current registration who have experience of working in a caring environment. Applications will be considered from Student Nurses due to qualify in the current cohort.
