A Registrar (LAS) post in Respiratory Medicine is offered commencing as soon as possible until August 2017. The post provides experience in Respiratory, General and Acute Medicine. This post will provide ideal experience for anyone considering respiratory medicine as a career with exposure to all aspects of chest disease including COPD/ NIV/ Asthma/ILD/ Lung Cancer/ Pleural disease/ Sleep Disordered Breathing / Pneumonia/ Chronic cough/TB amongst other conditions as well as a broad acute and general medical exposure. You will be working in a very supportive department with 3 chest consultants, dedicated specialist respiratory nurses and physiologists. During your post, if you wish to proceed in a career in this field we will endeavor to help you as much as possible to obtain a substantive training number.

This is a senior post and the successful candidate will have at least Part 1 MRCP (or equivalent) plus over 1 years experience in acute unselected medical intake at SHO/CMT1 level. General and sub specialty training opportunities will be provided by this post. The successful applicant will be encouraged to undertake workplace based assessments in line with those expected for a comparable training post, commensurate with experience. If desired the post holder would be supported to obtain recognition of their training by the appropriate college and PMETB. The post is involved in the supervision and the support of more junior staff and teaching of medical students. The position is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Records Disclosure Check.

The post-holder will participate in the Acute Medicine on call rota. We have 1 whole time equivalent, and a 04 whole time equivalent available.
