Rehabilitation Assistants, Band 3

Permanent: 2 x 375 hours per week

Fixed Term: 1 x 30 hours per week ( end date 1 August 2017 )

We are looking to recruit band 3 Rehabilitation Assistants to work across our dynamic Stroke Services in Somerset. We are forward thinking organisation looking for compassionate staff who are up for the challenge of working within a strong stroke specialist team.

This is an opportunity for a band 3 to be supported to develop a broad range of skills within stroke, working in the stroke hub providing evidence based specific tasks as designated to you from a trained member of staff, within inpatient stroke rehabilitation, early supported discharge and community stroke services .

You will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team which includes stroke coordinator, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologist and speech and language therapists.

As a member of the team you will carry out specific tasks as designated to you, which will include risk assessing, promoting and enabling independent functioning, and ensure that service users optimise their rehabilitation potential. You will be committed to a person-centered approach to your work, have an ability to prioritise and work flexibly.

We are a supportive stroke rehabilitation service that is committed to continued professional development, peer support and practice education and broad ongoing training, and we have excellent support from our stroke clinical specialists.

The Stroke Service covers a 7 day a week service and therefore it will be a requirement to work a variety early and late shifts to cover the period 730 am to 9pm including weekends.

Access to a vehicle for travelling within and outside Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is essential.
