Relief Support Worker - Woodlands/Thetford

Job Description

We are currently seeking to recruit Relief Support Workers in our Woodlands service, Thetford. Our shifts are rota'd over Monday to Sunday between 7am : 9.30pm or Waking night shifts 9pm-8am (£8 hourly rate).

This is an interesting and varied role supporting 4 males and 4 females aged 18-62 in their residential home and out in the community. The role involves working with adults with a profound and multiple learning disability, physical disabilities and some communication difficulties to live as independently as possible. It is a very diverse and busy environment with lots of different personalities, support needs and interests, so no two days are the same.

You will be supporting with every aspect of daily living:

• Personal care (essential)

• Finances

• Cooking, cleaning & going to the supermarket

• Accessing the community

• Attending appointments and social activities.

You will be actively promoting and encouraging the people we support to make their own choices in everything they do. You will also be involved in supporting with great things like: music & sensory time, shopping, attending day placements, watching shows at the Theatre and much more.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, person centred and keen to learn. It is not essential to drive as it is close to a bus route, but you must be able to meet the needs of the service.
