Relief Support Worker Swindon

We support a total of 8 people across two services that are of varying from 40 to 75 years of age.

* Typical shift patterns for the service are:

10am-10pm with a sleep-in and then 7am-10am, 8am : 3pm, 3pm : 9pm Monday to Friday, weekends 10am : 8pm OR 10am-10pm with a sleep-in and then 7am-10am, 9:30am : 4pm weekdays & weekends 10-4

If you are the successful candidate you will be joining a well organised and extremely friendly team of other Support Workers who strive to pride the very best person-centred care across all areas of the service. The people that we support require different types of assistance from full personal care through to encouragement and enablement. Some of the more fun activities could include: Going to social clubs, swimming, playing snooker, getting out and about in the community, cooking, cleaning and general household tasks.

Key Role Requirements:

• Willingness to participate in sleep-ins is essential.

• Willingness to provide personal care when needed is essential.

• A driver's licence would be advantageous but not essential.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

We will provide you with award winning training paid for by Mencap and you will be paid for your time during training. We will also offer you shadow shifts for you to learn about the "Mencap way" of doing things and get used to your new working environment before being asked to do some lone working. We will also pay for an Enhanced DBS check to be completed.
