Job Description

QEHB provides direct clinical services to nearly 900,000 patients every year, serving a regional, national and international population. We are a regional centre for cancer, trauma, renal dialysis, burns and plastics and have the largest solid organ transplantation programme in Europe. The Trust has the largest kidney programme in the UK and is a major specialist centre for burns and plastic surgery.

We provide a series of highly specialist cardiac, liver, oncology and neurosurgery services to patients from across the UK.

We are world-renowned for our trauma care and have developed pioneering surgical techniques in the management of ballistic and blast injuries, including bespoke surgical solutions for previously unseen injuries. As a result of its clinical expertise in treating trauma patients and military casualties, QEHB has been designated both a Level 1 Trauma Centre and host of the UK’s only £20m National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Surgical Reconstruction and Microbiology Research Centre (SRMRC).

We are setting up a brand new team in Cardiology research and are looking to appoint an experienced Band 6 research nurse to join us.The cardiology research portfolio is one of the largest at the UHB and has an exciting range of commercial, academic, observational as well as complex interventional studies.

You will be working as part of a small team of research nurses, responsible for leading on identifying, recruiting and supporting patients and undertaking nursing care activities/ interventions within clinical trials and other well designed studies.

The right candidate would be an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is patient focused and can provide protocol driven, evidence based care in collaboration with participants, relatives and the multidisciplinary team; ensuring that patient care is delivered according to Trust procedures and research standard operating procedures.
