Job Requirements

As a Residential Education Worker (REW) at Beechwood College you will be required to provide educational, residential and therapeutic care and support to all students, enabling them to gain greater independence and confidence. Whilst this role will predominantly require you to support our students with personal needs and care within their residential setting, you will also be expected to work across all areas of the College including alongside the lecturers within classrooms, clinical services staff and the wider community. This post involves shift work.

You will actively seek to encourage and promote the development of independence and transferable life skills for our students, and work in proactive close partnership with our multidisciplinary team, care coordinators and the students’ family.

We are seeking to recruit a candidate with a passion and commitment to delivering specialist education and residential care to those with autism and Asperger’s syndrome. This is a unique opportunity to join an expanding, successful educational organisation that puts the needs of its students and staff at the centre of all decision making.

To be a successful Residential Education Worker you will need to demonstrate enthusiasm and an innovative approach to enriching the lives of those we support. Excellent communication skills and a desire to learn new knowledge and skills will enable you to develop within our expanding and sector leading organisation. Successful applicants will also either already have, or will be expected to work towards, NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adults) during their employment.

If successful, your appointment will be subject to an enhanced Criminal Record Bureau (DBS) check.
