Job Description

RGN - Primary Care Nurse - Prison - York - Salary from £21,909 - £28,462 per annum - Band 5 - 37.5 hours per week

•*14% pension and will match NHS holidays**

My client is looking for an RGN Primary Care Nurse to join their team at a Category A Prison in York. As a wellbeing nurse you will provide care including nurse-led clinics, assessments and referrals. Working in a challenging environment you will be managing long term and acute conditions, working autonomously and flexibly according to changing conditions. This opportunity is ideal for a Registered General Nurse (RGN) looking for a challenging and fulfilling position in a complex and varied setting.

You will be an RGN with experience working in a custodial/juvenile/forensic/secure setting looking for an exciting new RGN Primary Care Nurse position within a Prison based in York.

The role of the RGN Primary Care Nurse is:

•Deliver the highest standards of care with dignity and respect
•Carry out clinical triage, assessments, nurse-led clinic
•Develop, review and update care plans based on the changing needs of patients
•Comply with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines
•Ensure medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered
•Ensure all relevant policies and procedures are read, understood are adhered to by all staff
•Supervise and monitor standards of care and take appropriate action to improve standards when required
•Ensure all clinical documentation is well maintained and filed in the appropriate places
Provide empathetic support to each individual patient

As a RGN Primary Care Nurse, you will have:

•Experience in a similar setting (custodial/juvenile/forensic/secure environment)
•A general nursing qualification (RGN)
•Current and valid registration with the NMC
•The legal right to work in the UK
•A Valid NOMS Clearance
•Experience in managing long term conditions
•Knowledge of clinical governance and clinical auditing
•Evidence of continued professional development
