RGN/RMN Deputy Manager, Stoke On Trent
Salary: circa £30k per annum

Experts2care are delighted to be working in close partnership with a small Care Group with 4 homes in The Midlands to recruit an RGN/RMN Deputy Manager for their Nursing Home in Stoke on Trent. This role would suit a Nurse ready for a career move or an experienced Deputy Manager.

The company are a small and friendly group and provide EMI, Nursing and Residential facilities for the elderly and adults in their properties. Their Stoke on Trent home is medium sized and is making progress towards meeting CQC requirements.

Main Duties for RGN/RMN Deputy Manager:

The RGN/RMN Deputy Manager will work closely with the Home Manager to ensure that the home is well led and the residents are given the best care by the Nursing team.

You will build good relationships with residents and relatives    

To undertake assessments for new service users, design and plan service delivery.

To supervise the preparation of Person Centred Care Plans, Review & Assessments, implementing plans with the assistance of a care team.

Prepare and/or contribute to reports, reviews and assessments in order to enhance the quality of services.

Ensure records are maintained and updated as required .

Undertake regular supervisions/appraisals to assess performance and encourage development. Co-ordinate and run Nurse Meetings to deliver information and maintain best practice.

Encourage and lead the Nurse Team to deliver supervisions/appraisals and promote strong leadership development.

Ensure that Nurses are trained in line with company policy and procedures and they up to date and current with competency booklets/portfolios. Ensure that all nurse pins are up to date and active and liaise with NMC over any matters concerning service delivery.

To continuously review your practices to develop new skills and knowledge through continuous professional development and training maintain a sound working knowledge of current care/nursing legislation/standards that contributes to the enhancement of patient care skills.

Lead by example having a presence on the units and being accessible.

The role will also involve office based activities which will require the post holder to be flexible to meet the needs of the home.

Ensure the services is up to date with all clinical matters and undertake regular audits to demonstrate this.

Complete notifications to CQC, clinical and accident outcomes.

Undertake care plans and medication audits.

Ensure that the care home and it’s services are marketed in the most effective manner to external bodies and professionals e.g. GPs surgeries, social workers, hospitals, registered housing associations, Age Concern, and the public at large.

To undertake and lead projects to improve service provision as and when required

Promote company initiatives and manage delivery within the services provision, ensuring that all staff are working to company policies and procedures, and to take appropriate action to ensure that standards are reached and maintained

Take responsibility and accountability for the establishment, its resources and services during the Manager’s authorised absence.

Share on call responsibilities with the Home Manager which will include weekend cover.

In the instance of short notice absence there will be a requirement for the post holder to cover the shift by working as a nurse.


Job Requirements

Main requirements for RGN/RMN Deputy Manager:

Nursing qualification - RGN or RMN. Current NMC PIN. Eligibility to work in UK. Experience in a Nursing Home environment. Good clinical Skills and strong leadership skills.
