The Spinney psychiatric services based in Atherton Greater Manchester is part of the Partnerships in care group a noted leader and provider of Mental Health Care within the independent Health sector.

We are an all-male service, providing Medium and Low secure services for individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental illness who may or may not also have challenging behaviours our model of care is underpinned by the principles of recovery and my shared pathway.

The philosophy and ethos of the unit is to work collaboratively and in partnership with the patient so as to ensure the best possible outcome and the Average Length of Stay is kept to a minimum.

More recently the Spinney psychiatric services have seen the commissioning of an adult male PICU which provides care for 10 patients. Care is delivered in accordance to NICE guidelines and national service framework with the emphasis on best outcome for the patient. The service provides care for individuals with a primary diagnosis of Mental illness and or dual diagnosis. A dedicated Multidisciplinary Team with the support of other allied professionals work in collaboration with the community mental health team’s home treatment teams, community psychiatric nurses and harm reduction teams in order to ensure a seamless transition from admission to discharge.

The unit is a modern purposely adapted ward to support patients during a mental health Crisis providing a safe environment conducive to recovery.

As a newly qualified nurse wishing to undertake your preceptorship, as well as our Preceptorship Academy, we offer a starting salary of £21,723 rising automatically to £23,320 upon immediate completion of preceptorship, in addition to our benefits package. It is common that within 12 months of your start date you would also have the opportunity to apply for a promotion to Staff Nurse 2 with an attractive salary of £29,582.
