Job Description

Cygnet Health Care is one of the UK's largest independent providers of mental health care pathways, providing high value integrated services to a wide range of individuals. We aim to offer personalised care to service users with psychological, emotional and addiction problems. For our hospital-based services, this spans medium security all the way to rehabilitation services, with a wide variety of specialist mental health, learning disability and personality disorder services offered at all stages of the pathway.

Cygnet Hospital Taunton is a newly refurbished, 46 bed hospital which has been recently acquired by Cygnet Health Care. The hospital is divided into five, gender specific units, where we are able to provide specialist complex care for older people with organic and / or functional mental health needs and also holistically supporting their presenting physical health needs.

We are located in a picturesque rural setting on the outskirts of Taunton - the county town of Somerset. Taunton is well served by a mainline train service (London to Penzance) and a 10 minute drive from junction 25 of the M5 motorway.

We have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic RMN & RNLD student's looking for a comprehensive preceptorship programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified Nurses looking to join an organisation who places great emphasis on supporting and developing you. Our comprehensive 6 month preceptorship programme will provide you with the knowledge and experience to make the progression from student to Nurse.

Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and a sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.

You will need to be flexible as our shift rota is based on long days, nights and alternate weekends and self-motivated to work in this unique and sometimes challenging, yet rewarding environment.

Successful applicants should demonstrate their ability to maintain high standards of care and be professionally responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. A high standard of record keeping which demonstrates service user and / or family / carer engagement is expected.
