Job Description

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with mental health issues. Making a real difference to their lives, you’ll provide strong clinical support as you help to deliver an exceptional service to the people who need it most. Garrow House is a regional high support service for 12 women with personality disorder including those with problems managing their mood, emotions or relationships or who have developed unhelpful coping strategies to deal with past trauma, such as self–harm, an eating disorder or substance misuse. Garrow House Pathways provides a unique model of high quality, intensive support designed to enable service users to regain their health, wellbeing and independence so they can move back into the community. One of our successes has been our commitment to ensuring we deliver a service that is based on psychologically informed care – and it is delivered in a way that is bespoke to the needs of the women at Garrow House, rather than delivered in line with formal diagnosis.

Ultimately, our aim is to equip people with the skills, coping strategies, daily living skills they need for a successful transition to live more independently in the community. If you are an experienced RMN this is your chance to further strengthen our person–centred approach as part of a multi–disciplinary team. Achieving your own potential, you’ll do this by encouraging every individual to reach theirs too – whilst working towards their personal recovery.

Working within an evidence–based framework, we’ll look to you to support a high quality person–centred nursing service. As a RMN, this will involve plenty of variety and a broad range of professional challenges – from taking part in clinical audits and acting as a primary nurse for nominated service users, to participating in MDT reviews and the CPA process, and attending tribunals or Managers’ Hearings for detained service users. As a professional role model, your remit will extend to providing clinical supervision and line management to support workers.

Running health services on a not–for–profit basis, we invest every penny back into our care – and our people. Our salary scales are comparative with the NHS and we can offer huge scope for professional and personal development and training. This RMN role is also 37 hours a week, with rotational night duty and opportunities for nurses who are interested in joining our Nurse Bank. So, if you’re ambitious and focused on mental health, progress a clinical career with real value.

The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
