Salaried GP - Whitehaven

Job Description

Cumbria Health on Call is a key element of urgent care in Cumbria providing a quality and highly responsive out-of-hours primary health service.

We are recruiting Salaried General Practitioner's to work in Whitehaven.

CHoC are tier 2 sponsors.

CHoC are very aware of the situation all GP's are all facing in regard to the rising costs of Indemnity cover for out of hours work and the difficulties this has caused. CHoC are now in a position to offer financial assistance to any GP available to take up or are currently working in a salaried position for CHoC on a minimum of 10 hours per week.

A 40 hour per week salary of £110,032 plus the maximum indemnity contribution where applicable of£15,000, would give a gross contracted pay of £125,032 per annum.

The scheme will run via Salary Sacrifice which will form part of the Employment Contract, full details of which are attached, but to summarise:

  • A full-time post (40 hours per week) would be eligible for a maximum contribution of up to £15,000 p.a.
  • A part-time contract (starting at 10 hours per week) would be eligible for a minimum contribution of £3,750 p.a.
  • Variable pro rata contributions for contracts between 11- 39 hrs per week

This role will form an integral part of the CHoC team, accountable to the Chief Executive. The post holder will be responsible for providing high quality out of hours primary care service. Clinicians must adhere to the Cumbria Health on Call Code of Good Practice and keep updated with Cumbria Health on Call's policies and guidelines.

This post can be part time or full time, working a minimum 10 hour a week contract, and maximum 405 hour contract. CHoC are eligible for the NHS Pension Scheme. The working days can be mid-week OR weekend. We are able to offer tier 2 sponsorship.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship (formerly a Work Permit)

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
