Job Description

Should you require further information regarding this vacancy please contact the organisation direct.

The Jolley & Dutta Practice is a GP Training Practice with a registered patient population of around 5000. The Partnership is one of three GP Partnerships collocated at the GP Centre and is supported by a highly skilled nurse and administrative team, by way of a shared resources model. The Partnerships work closely together to deliver Primary Healthcare services to their registered population. Overall there is a combined patient list size of approximately 15,000.

We are fortunate to be supported by a highly professional team that combine excellent clinical and non-clinical skills. The Practice recently achieved an overall rating of ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission earlier this year and was rated as “outstanding” for the level of care provided to vulnerable patients and those with long term conditions. Inevitably we remain under constant pressure to maintain and deliver the highest level of patient care in an ever-changing environment with decreasing resources.

We are seeking a GP (up to 7 clinical sessions pw) to become fully involved with all Practice functions, both clinical and operational. This is an ideal opening for an aspiring individual.

Whilst the job specification details the main duties of the post, we see this role as a developmental one and the successful candidate should be prepared to fully commit to role; integrate with the Practice Team and contribute time and effort to the achievement of the Practice business objectives and the continuity of patient care.

  • Good understanding of the contemporary issues and challenges facing Primary Care.
  • An interest in clinical commissioning and a willingness to become involved in the work effort to deliver clinical commissioning objectives.
  • A flexible and resilient approach to duties – able to work harmoniously with the GP Partners to shape and deliver a suitable model of care that meets the ongoing needs of our patients on a daily basis.
  • ‘Can do’ attitude, innovative thinker, implementer and problem solver.
  • An interest in women’s health; confident delivery of ante natal and contraceptive care.
  • Good communicator with a reputation of value-adding and reliability.
  • An interest in becoming a GP Trainer will be highly regarded.

We offer competitive terms of employment and a supportive and friendly working environment.
