Senior Clincial Fellow in Paediatric Surgery

Job Description

Applications are invited for two Senior Clinical Fellows (Equivalent to StR) in Paediatric Surgery at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The post is designed to provide paediatric surgery experience at middle grade level and to provide the opportunity to gain experience in medical education, clinical research and audit. However consideration will also be given to applicants who wish to build on existing, or develop new skills outside a formal training programme. This post cannot be used to support formal research.

In order to be considered applicants must be fully qualified medical practitioners, registered with the General Medical Council, have completed FRCS or equivalent and undertaken at least 6 months training posts in Paediatric Surgery at registrar level. Further qualifications FRCS (Paed Surg) or equivalent would be an advantage. Additional previous paediatric surgery experience would be an advantage.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013).

Please note that this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval of training recognition. Support for study leave will however be given.
