Frimley Health is a Trust where great care and great careers go hand in hand. We’re three hospitals working closely with each other and with the communities we serve in Surrey and Berkshire - our organisation has brought Heatherwood and Wexham hospitals into the fold of Frimley Park Hospital and its wider community services.

You’ll find the highest standards of clinical excellence across our locations and a friendly, supportive, open culture that brings everyone together. For our team it means a great day-to-day working experience – in a Trust with strong leadership, a clear sense of direction and an exciting vision for the future. You can play your part in delivering exceptional patient care, while continuing to grow, develop and progress through first class learning and training.

Senior Clinical Fellow - Emergency Department

12 months Fixed Term Contract

These are progressive and exciting times for our Emergency Department. A hoped-for partnership with Frimley Park Hospital follows a period of change in Secondary Care provision in neighbouring South Bucks. The existing Emergency Department has been enlarged and refurbished in the past year.

Our Emergency Department is Iocated on the Wexham Park Hospital site in Slough, and is forward-thinking and friendly, with a strong seamless team working ethic. We treat in excess of 110,000 patients per year (of which 25% are children) with a range of conditions, and are part of the Thames Valley Trauma Network.
In that our workload has increased rapidly, we are now looking to recruit new doctors at all levels.
Applications are invited for Senior Clinical Fellows in Emergency Medicine based at Wexham Park Hospital, to commence from November 2014 for 1 year, in the first instance.
The appointee at senior clinical fellow grade will have experience in Emergency Medicine and will join the middle tier, working a full shift system (occasionally ‘in charge’). Whilst working in the department, they will be supported in applications for specialty training and will be encouraged to take an active part in the departmental training (to include ultrasound) and clinical governance programme. We are currently supporting the development of our present middle-tier doctors, specifically on the regional SAS training programme, as well as others to complete MCEM.

Wexham Park Hospital is a busy District General Hospital situated in semi-rural surroundings close to M4, M40 and M25 motorways. The Emergency Department staff deliver care in a well equipped, recently refurbished department. The appointees will gain excellent experience in Emergency Medicine and will join a 12 person rota, working a full shift system.

If the thought of being part of a very dynamic and busy department appeals to you, please contact the Emergency Department’s Clinical Lead, Dr Francoise Ticehurst, or else another member of the consultant body (via Angela James-Howard ) to discuss and arrange a visit.
