Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics and Neonates

Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics and Neonates. This is a fixed term appointment from as soon as possible for 1 year for the reason of a vacant post based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage. The post is full time and the post holder will be expected to participate on the 1:9 middle grade rota covering acute paediatrics and Local Neonatal Unit

This is an excellent opportunity within the Paediatrics department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. There are 9 ST4-6 training posts providing service in General/Ambulatory Paediatrics, Community Child Health and Neonatal Medicine on a rotational basis and all participate on the middle grade 1:9 full shift rota. The post holder will be clinically responsible to the Consultant Paediatricians in their areas and Consultant of the week

Lister Hospital, Stevenage, is the main base of the Children’s service. The unit has a 20 bed in-patient ward, Local Neonatal Unit (level II) and a 24 hour Children Assessment Unit linked to the Children’s Emergency Unit

The post holder will be encouraged to participate in audits, presentations and teachings. Although, this post is not recognised for training the appointee will be encouraged in their training and development within the role.

Following the investment of £150 million in major new facilities at the Lister, along with a £30 million New QEII hospital built by the local clinical commissioning group, the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust has brought together all its specialist emergency and inpatient services at the Stevenage hospital. Our state-of–the-art clinical facilities include a major new Emergency Department, the Hertfordshire Cardiology Centre (which includes a 24/7 PPCI service), new scanning centre, McMillan chemotherapy unit, ward, endoscopy and theatre blocks.
