Job Description

One post is based within the neonatal service at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. The service offers an exceptional breadth of neonatal clinical experience including management of both extreme preterm infants and infants with complex fetal anomalies. The unit provides renal support therapy, neonatal surgical services, the Scottish ECMO service (one of four U.K. ECMO units), the Scottish neonatal cardiology and cardiac surgical services. The co-located maternity unit delivers approx 6,000 births/year and the NICU is one of the largest in the UK having 28 ICU/HDU cots and 24 SCBU cots. The second post is based in the ScotSTAR Neonatal Transport service (West of Scotland team) which provides both road and fixed wing transfers for critically ill newborns across Scotland. This post offers exceptional experience in neonatal transport, working as part of a busy team with up to date transport equipment (including HFO, cooling and iNO) alongside adult and paediatric retrieval services in a purpose built integrated transport base. Applicants must have middle-grade experience in Neonatology and be able to demonstrate competency in neonatal resuscitation, intubation and management of ventilated infants.
