FULL TIME SENIOR HPB SURGICAL FELLOW - Commencing 5th October 2016
The Southampton HPB unit consists of 5 Consultant Surgeons, One Academic, and 4 NHS Consultants.

The Unit is a very busy unit with a catchment area of 37 millions in the central south coast. More than 250 major liver and pancreatic resections are yearly performed in addition to a large number of benign and emergency surgical cases.

The unit is one of the leading European units in Laparoscopic liver and pancreatic surgery with the largest UK experience. More than 70% of liver resections and than 90% of the left pancreatic resections are done laparoscopically.

The Fellow is expected to participate in the daily clinical activity from ward rounds to out patient clinics and theatres. The fellow is also expected to be involved in non-clinical duties such as education and training of Junior Medical Staff.

In addition, the fellow will have dedicated time to research and academic activity. He will be expected to lead on a number of projects and to produce a number of publications during his fellowship.
