We are looking for a Band 5: Senior Pharmacy Technician- Dispensary Management Support.

The hospitals that we supply to:

  • The Royal London Hospital
  • Whipps Cross Hospital
  • Newham Hospital
  • St Bartholomew's Hospital

Main Duties:

To support the dispensary manager as part of the senior operational management team in ensuring the smooth day to day running of the section in accordance with local policies and procedures.

  • Dispense and check all ward request, TTAs, Control drug request, and other relevant prescriptions (in line with ACPT scheme)
  • To work closely with dispensary manager and be part of the senior operational management team to provide a patient focused service within the dispensary, deputising for the dispensary manager in their absence.
  • Be responsible for the safe management of controlled drug on a daily basis responsible for all controlled drugs. Storage,accuracy,destruction,record keeping, staff training ,quarterly audits.. Investigate any discrepancies and report to appropriate person promptly.
  • Have responsibility for ensuring relevant audits are conducted and completed including error monitoring and KPI in accordance with Pharmacy guidelines.
  • Be responsible for the security and supply of FP10 forms issued by the department and providing a monthly usage data from epact.
  • Be an active member of the dispensary team, participating in all activities in the Dispensary as required, charing the weekly dispensary meeting, completing the daily staffing board.
  • To participate in the ward based medicines management service as required.
  • Be responsible for updating procedures and policies related to the dispensary.
