Job Description

There are many good reasons to choose to come and work at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

1st September 2015 was a landmark date for Chelsea and Westminster and West Middlesex hospitals as we officially came together to form the enlarged Foundation Trust. This helps secure the future of both major acute hospitals and by combining into a single, unified trust there will be more scope to innovate and develop even better services for our patients.

We aim to be a hospital of choice for patients and an employer of choice for staff. In order to improve all aspects of the patient experience, we rely upon having a highly skilled, motivated, diverse, productive and patient focused workforce. Our vision is to be a first class hospital for our community and we will build a strong and sustainable foundation trust which provides high-quality, value-for-money services to meet the health needs of the local population. It' s a very exciting time to come and work for us.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic clinician to join our friendly and enthusiastic Women’s and Men’s health physiotherapy team. The team consists of an extended scope physiotherapy practitioner as well as specialist and rotational physiotherapists.

Chelsea and Westminster therapy department is committed to evidence based practice and research is actively encouraged.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for an energetic and innovative physiotherapist with advanced clinical experience within the specialities of women’s and men’s health to further develop their professional skills. Ideally the successful applicant will be a full member of POGP (formerly ACPWH) or working towards membership.

As team leader you will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the service ensuring that all patients are given highly specialised and effective physiotherapy treatment. You would be expected to jointly develop your service in line with best practice to ensure an efficient and effective service delivery and good patient experience, where appropriate working at trust wide level.

The team has a large scope of referrals and works closely alongside multi-disciplinary teams in urogynaecology, urology, colorectal surgery, sexual health, paediatrics, mens’s health and obstetrics. The postholder’s responsibilities will include a mixed out-patient caseload from all these disciplines. They may also provide cover on the obstetric and gynaecology wards (private and NHS) where required. Additional duties involve input to antenatal and postnatal education, continence and rehabilitation classes.

This post is suitable for applicants who have already worked at team leading level, or who have completed competencies at band 6 level and are now looking to develop their managerial and clinical skills.

We are pleased to announce that as of 1st September 2015 Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust now includes West Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. This move sees the organisations become one major multi-site healthcare provider and teaching hospital, across two main sites.

In light of this exciting partnership we would like all candidates to understand that when applying for a role at any of the Chelsea and Westminster or West Middlesex sites, they are applying for a role within the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Interviews to be held on Wednesday, 23rd November.
