BMI Healthcare’s Woodlands Hospital in Darlington has a vacancy for a Senior 1 Physiotherapist to join their team of staff within the Physiotherapy Department on a Bank basis.

Working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

It is essential that applicants have the following:

  • Able to communicate clearly with a range of people at differing levels across the hospital, deploying a range of techniques to do this effectively
  • Able to support and develop staff to deliver business goals
  • Must be a Chartered Physiotherapist/ State Registered Occupational Therapist with at least three years postgraduate general hospital experience
  • Must be a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)/ College of Occupational Therapy
  • Must be Registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC)
  • Knowledge of registered body and HPC Codes and guidelines and their implications for practice

Duties of this role include:

  • Maintain professional standards in accordance with the CSP/ Code of Professional Conduct and Standards of Practice
  • Ensure compliance with standards in respect of all legislative requirements (including but not limited to CQC, SHE, DSE, Fire, COSHH, BLS, Manual Handling, Safeguarding Children, Information Security, and Infection Control)
  • Manage complaints and take corrective actions as appropriate
  • Ensure the correct billing of patients
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of charge forms, insurance claim forms, patient records and other documents. Ensure all such forms are stored safely and in accordance with Data Protection legislation
