Job Description

Due to staff development opportunities we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our dynamic Therapy Team. You will be working alongside a Specialist Physiotherapist in a highly experienced and forward thinking Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) within the Respiratory and Critical Care specialities. The applicant will be triaging / assessing / managing and discharging routine and complex patients within the Medical and Critical Care clinical areas. There will be opportunity to work in all clinical areas developing skills within medical respiratory, critical care and NIV management. The post will be involved in the training and supervision of students, junior staff and the emergency on-call team as we provide theoretical and practical education to all staff required to treat acute respiratory patients. Within the post there is future potential to rotate into our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team to further expand and improve your chronic respiratory management skills within group settings, home visits and one-to-one sessions. You will be an active member of the emergency evening and weekend respiratory rota within in this post. There will be opportunity to develop and progress leadership and managerial skills with the support of experienced Band 7 Physiotherapists ensuring a high quality evolving service.

The Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy Department at the Luton & DunstableHospital is a dynamic and evolving department and you will be encouraged to actively participate in service development and evaluation.

You will be supported in your role by a Specialist Physiotherapist and other senior therapists in the department. The department has a strong commitment to CPD and your ongoing professional development will be supported.

High standards of clinical performance are essential for this role together with good leadership and team work skills. In addition you will be a well organised individual with effective interpersonal and communication skills and have a minimum of 18 months experience across a broad range of specialities.

Respiratory and Critical Care Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist HCPC registration is essential.
