An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical Clinical Directorate for a Band 6 Radiographer who holds the Mammography Certificate.
We would be a happy to train a suitable candidate (employed at band 5 until qualification.)
The successful candidate will join a friendly team of Radiographers currently participating in both a highly rated Symptomatic Breast Service and a Screening Service currently meeting all national targets.
The south Essex Breast screening service operates with two Siemens inspiration units on site at the hospital and one unit on each of our three screening mobiles.
The screening service covers the whole of South Essex with 11 mobile sites to serve a current screening population of 94,000 . The successful candidate will need to hold a clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
In this role you will have autonomous responsibility for producing high quality mammograms and participating in all Screening, Assessment and Symptomatic Clinics. You will be an integral member of the Multi disciplinary team who although hard working, like to socialise whenever the opportunity arises. A commitment to remain with the department for a defined time period, following qualification will be required otherwise repayment of course fees will be necessary on a sliding pro rata scale.
There are opportunities within the department for career progression with a proven track record of staff undertaking elements of Advanced Practice (Film Reading, Ultrasound and Breast Interventional Techniques) based on suitability.

Daily flights are now available from the local airport, just over a mile from the Trust site, to various European destinations including Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Holland.
