Job Description

BMI Fawkham Manor Hospital in Longfield is part of BMI Healthcare, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.

This is a full time role for 375 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • DCR ( R ) or equivalent.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of subject.
  • Participate in continual professional development. Mandatory Training.
  • Without reference – manage Departmental activities when single-handed (Radiology Manager absent) or when on-call.
  • With reference - manage procedures under the guidance of Consultant Radiologist eg IVU’s or Consultant eg ERCP.
  • As a reference – advise on issues within scope of Radiography.
  • Recommendation – review/ratify policies, procedures and new techniques.
  • Satisfactory feedback from Radiology Manager at annual appraisal.
  • Ability to meet objectives of last appraisal.
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Excellently presented

Duties of this role include:

  • To act as senior radiographer to the Radiology Manager.
  • To carry out duties as required of a Senior Radiographer
  • To ensure that standards of Radiography and patient care are maintained at all times in accordance with agreed operational policies as a skilled member of the Imaging Team.
  • To promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all patients, employees and visitors.
  • To assist senior staff in the management of the Imaging Department and to provide effective leadership and management in their absence.
