Grade: Band 7

Hours: Full Time- Permanent Contract

The Neonatal Unit in Bradford is looking for committed and caring Nurses to join our team. We have a vacancy at Band 7 due to expansion of our Tertiary Unit following extensive refurbishment and improvement of our working environment. We are a level 3 Unit which cares for babies from our local community with a high delivery rate annually of 6200, and also accepts critically ill and extremely preterm babies from the Yorkshire and Humber region and elsewhere. The Unit currently has 31 cots of which 14 are ICU/HDU, and is supported by a 9 cot Transitional Care Unit. There is a well-established Neonatal Outreach Team for our patients and full Consultant and Junior Doctor Cover at all times.

We aim to provide family- centred, evidence-based care and are renowned for our innovative approach and research-oriented culture involving all members of the multidisciplinary team. We provide an enviable learning environment for nursing and medical staff and actively encourage professional development with excellent peer support. We have regular multidisciplinary simulation-based training and all staff are expected to be NLS-trained. All team members have a high level of commitment to delivering excellence in neonatal care.

You will need to possess excellent communication skills and sound practical skills as well as a compassionate approach to babies and their families. The nature of our local population demands particular awareness of, and empathy to, cultural aspects of neonatal care. We need team players who are dynamic and flexible in delivery of care. Candidates should be RSCN/RN Child or Registered Nurse (Adult), be qualified in speciality and have significant experience at a senior level within Neonatal Care. The post will be subject to successful completion of a 6 month probationary period.
