Job Description

St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the regional specialist care provider for south west London, Surrey and beyond. The trust provides a high quality, comprehensive range of health services from leading edge tertiary and trauma care to community services, delivered from 2 hospital sites, St.George’s Hospital in Tooting and Queen Mary’s Hospital in Roehampton, and from St John’s Therapy Centre, 11 health centres and clinics, schools, nursing homes and people’s own homes. The trust also manages the healthcare service at HMP Wandsworth. With national and regional referrals added to our local 35m catchment, we serve a population of around 5m. We employ around 8,000 staff.


St George’s Neonatal Unit is a perinatal medical and surgical referral centre, covering the South West London sector and beyond. The unit has a capacity of 41 cots, 12 of which are intensive care, 11 high dependency and 18 special care. Plans are underway to expand high dependency with two further cots. We have a large medical and nursing establishment of over190 staff, with a range of nursing positions from Neonatal Assistants to Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners.

You will need a minimum of 6 months experience post completion of an accredited neonatal course. In return we can offer you a wide breadth of experience as you progress your neonatal career.
