Job Description

We are looking to recruit Band 6 Senior Staff Nurses / Senior Operating Department Practitioners. The successful applicants will have scrub and/or anaesthetic skills and be based in the Paediatric Theatres at the Evelina London Children's Hospital. Experience in paediatrics is desirable but not essential. This post will provide you with an opportunity to continue developing your specialist and team management skills to progress in your career within one of the country’s leading NHS Trusts.

As well as appropriate experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will need to have a relevant post registration course in Perioperative Medicine and a formal Mentorship qualification to be considered. This is a key role in the department so you will need to demonstrate effective team working and proven leadership skills as you will be expected to support with the management of the department and deputise for the Band 7 in their absence. You will also provide clinical management advice, support and teaching to all relevant staff in theatres. Please note that this is a full time position and you will have to also take part in an on call and night duty rota and have a flexible approach to work.
