Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Team Leader to join our team at Gibraltar House Nursing Home, Portal Road, Monmouth, NP25 5FL

Set atop ‘Gibraltar Rock’ overlooking the historic city of Monmouth, in South Wales, Gibraltar House Nursing Home combines the best of town and country living.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Nurse Team Leader who can promote individual independence, dignity and respect by delivering the highest possible standards of care to those living at Gibraltar House Nursing Home.


As a Senior Team Leader you will be responsible for supervising junior and new members of staff to ensure an efficient running of the home, creating a conductive atmosphere whilst overseeing the care of individuals living in the home.

Taking responsibility to ensure the well-being of the individuals living at Gibraltar, including making sure their physical, emotional and social needs are met.  You should be someone who is emotionally intelligent and passionate about care and making a difference in someone’s life.

Training & Development:


We use the Skills for Care “Care Certificate" training targets to ensure that our staff members fulfil the aims of Gibraltar House Nursing Home and meet the changing needs of the people living within their home.  We also have a Group Training Officer who is there to support you by delivering in-house training.


We recognise that training not only improves the nursing home, but improves the quality of life for those you care for by providing for them in the safest, most appropriate way.  Furthermore, individual staff members benefit by improving their own skills to use throughout their career with Gibraltar House.

Job Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

  • RMN or dual trained
  • Up to date with all areas of clinical expertise
  • Able to show support and direction to other care staff
  • Able to administer medication competently
  • Able to complete and update care plans
  • Able to deal with varying levels of dementia
  • Passionate about providing quality nursing care to the elderly
  • Exceptional communication skills in order to support the individuals living with us, family members  and other health professionals and care staff
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Management/Supervisory experience
