Job Description

Service Manager

About us

We’re Consensus, an award-winning independent provider of support services for people with learning disabilities and additional health and social care needs.

We believe everybody can achieve their aspirations and do amazing things. Our role is to provide people-centered support – support that starts each person we support on the road to greater independence, empowering them to reach their full potential.

We’ll take equally good care of you and your career. Thanks to our ILM accreditation, we can offer you a structured management development programme, whilst our impressive benefits package will see you getting the rewards you deserve.

The Service

Our Kingarth site is a seven bedroom facility for male adults.  We support people with a diagnosis of a learning disability and who have either come into contact with or at risk of coming into contact with the Criminal Justice System.

The Service Manager role

We’ll look to you to lead the team at Kingarth providing operational and strategic direction, and making sure everything runs smoothly and cost-effectively. Together, you’ll ensure the individuals you support have the opportunity to develop a varied and fulfilling lifestyle – and the chance to define their own goals and decide their own future.

From ensuring the highest standards of support, to managing budgets, and developing your team, it’s a varied role in an organisation that’s leading the way in supporting those with learning disabilities.

The skills you’ll need

A strong, supportive leader and effective manager, you’ve successfully managed a team in a challenging Learning Disability Service. You’ve also had professional senior level contact with CQC and have developed positive relationships with commissioning teams.

You should have achieved, or be working towards a QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care or hold equivalent qualification, such as NVQ Level 4 in both Health and Social Care and Leadership and Management in Care Services. Above all, you’re committed to the same high-quality, person-centered services that we are – services that help people to a better life.
