An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team on Compton Ward at the RoyalSurreyCountyHospital in Guildford, as a Sister / Charge Nurse of the in patient ward. Compton Ward is a 30 bedded mixed sex urology and colorectal surgical ward. We are currently undergoing exciting developmental changes within urology with the centralisation of all major urological cancer surgery within a single site at the RoyalSurreyCountyHospital. You will be involved in caring for patients following laparoscopic and robotic assisted prostatectomy as well as cystectomy. The Royal Surrey is also an International Training Centre for laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Colorectal patients are supported on the well established Enhanced Recovery pathway.
We are looking for a motivated individual to direct and co-ordinate evidence based nursing practice in surgical care in conjunction with the team of Sisters. You should have significant experience at Senior Staff Nurse with relevant clinical experience. A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential. You should be able to demonstrate ongoing professional development. The role involves leadership to a group of nurses and participation in the collaborative management of the inpatient ward.
