Job Description

The Department of Congenital Heart Disease is based at the Evelina London Children's Hospital. It has an international reputation for treating heart problems in children from fetal life, through childhood and adolescence and into adulthood. We have around 6,000 patients a year under our care.

Following the promotion of the current post holder we are currently seeking a dynamic and inspirational Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to lead our nursing team on Savannah Cardiology.

The ward currently has 14 inpatient beds, including 6 HDU spaces; but will be moving to a new purpose built area with a larger bed capacity in the New Year.
The ward admits children from across the south of England, Northern Ireland and Overseas and has a strong network with regional hospitals. The ward is host to both medical and nursing students from several universities, and we get excellent feedback from them. We are committed to continuous professional development and ensuring an optimal learning environment is essential.

As Ward Sister/Charge Nurse you would bring excellent clinical skills and knowledge, and a desire to maintain a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. You should have evidence of prior leadership and management and we will continue to develop your professional skills in this role. You will be well supported by the Ward Manager, Clinical Educator and Senior Nursing team.
