We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, children’s nurse who enjoys working within a team of dedicated staff. This is a permanent position for a Sister/Charge Nurse for the Paediatric Outpatients Service at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. This post will be 30hrs/week and the appointee will need to offer a flexible approach to ensure appropriate clinic cover at all times.

Our Paedaitric Outpatients Team offers a service to children aged 0-18years and their families. Our team operate from two main sites, one at Calderdale Royal Hospital and the other at Acre Mill, Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. We work as part of a multidisciplinary team offering a variety of specialist services to our children, young people and their families ensuring an excellent patient experience for all. We run various clinics including venepuncture, immunisation, food challenges and also specialist clinics with nurse specialists and visiting Consultants.

The post holder will have excellent leadership skills and the ability to ensure high standards of care are maintained at all times for our service users. We are a forward thinking Paediatric team who embrace new ways of working and focus our care delivery on the needs of our children and families. The successful candidate will enable and support the wider Paediatric Outpatient team in continuing the provision of compassionate, evidence based and innovative care.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. Please be aware that you will be charged for this check and monies will be deducted from your salary on commencement in post. This will be taken in instalments over a three month period. Please note that if you are successful in being offered a position, you will be required to participate in the DBS Update Service at a cost of £1300 which you will also be required to pay.
