Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Team Leader 375 hrs a week

We are based at Lescaze offices in Dartington where we provide Public Health Nursing services to the local community, offering care from the antenatal period until 19 years of age.

This is an exciting time to be in Public Health Nursing as we roll out and deliver our commissioned core services. We are also implementing Total Mobile which is an electronic based records management system.

The team consists of range of qualified specialist community practitioners which include Health Visitors, School Nurses and community health workers with a linked business support team.

The Public Health Nursing team offer an integrated approach to meeting the needs of young children and their families and support the delivery of improved health outcomes. This is a dedicated team who provide an invaluable service within the local community.

The Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Team Leader supports the work of our Public Health Nursing team and allows us to deliver the Health Child Programme and also work in partnership with a range of local services in order to meet the health needs of this community population. The role is incredibly varied so needs a dynamic individual with excellent management & leadership skills to support the team through change in order to continually meet the demands of the population and supporting best practice and evidence based practice.

Our Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Team Leader will have:-

  • Current NMC registration
  • Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification
  • Experience of management & supervision of staff
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • An understanding of current nursing workforce issues and Public health Nursing challenges
  • Understanding & experience of child protection
  • Computer literate
