FIFE HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE PARTNERSHIP QUEEN MARGRET HOSPITAL – NUTRITIAN & DIETETICS SPECIALIST DIETITIAN REF NO: FW236/10/16AA SALARY: £26,565 - £35,577 BAND 6 - HOURS: 375 – FIXED TERM (to 31/07/17) The Nutrition & Dietetic Department is a Fife wide service providing Dietetic care to one Acute hospital, Primary Care hospitals and the community. The department is currently arranged into clinical groups for; Acute, Diabetes, Nutritional Support , Older People and Paediatric. There are also specialist Dietitians working in Mental Health, Eating Disorders and Health Improvement. The Dietetic department takes both undergraduate and graduate Dietetic students for B & C programmes each year; involving staff in the delivery and organisation of the programmes. The department runs regular department training sessions and supports staff in their continuing professional development. The department has good clerical support, IT, internet and library facilities. Registered with HPC, you will have the skills, competencies and experience appropriate for the post. Job Purpose: This post involves providing a Dietetic service for older people in the Dunfermline & West Fife area and to Queen Margaret Hospital. This will involve undertaking domicillary visits for over 75's referred via the Hospital @Home team as well as local GP's, referrals from local Care Homes and providing some cover to wards and a Day Hospital at Queen Margaret Hospital, . Working Areas/Caseload: The post holder will be required to work independently and there will be a requirement to work alongside a wide range of health and social care practitioners. You will be responsible for prioritising your daily workload and providing support to Dietetic students as well as to a Dietetic assistant. You will be part of the Older Peoples team and work collaboratively to achieve their aims and objectives.
