We are looking for Radiographers to join our skilled and committed MR Team.
As a band 6 MRI Specialist Radiographer within this Trust, you will be based in Torbay Hospital, working on 2 MR Scanners - 15T Siemens and 15T GE. You will be part of a 12 hour, 7 day per week service with some limited on-call.
The Radiology Directorate is well known for its successful and long standing 7-day radiology service and other service redesigns. It continues to benchmark positively against other similar size Trusts across a range of key performance indicators for Radiology.
We would consider full or part time appointments and flexible working and there might be opportunity for the role to be split CT/MR. We may also consider appointing Radiographers with little MR or no experience with the intention to provide training.
Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is the result of a merger of 2 organisations to create an Integrated Care Organisation. This will contribute substantially to improving our patients care locally with the intention to provide care closer to patients’ homes. Expansion of our MRI Team will contribute to this by providing timely access to examinations from all referrers.
As a Department, we are committed to recognising and developing the Radiographers role through Advanced Practice. The majority of skeletal Plain Film imaging is reported by Radiographers; we have Radiographers and Sonographers performing MSK Injections and have an on-going training program to develop Advanced Practitioner Sonographers. When opportunity arises we will also develop existing staff into roles in CT, Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Catheter Lab and MRI.
The Trust serves a population of 260,000 with a catchment area covering Torbay and South Dartmoor. The population increases by approximately 100,000 in the summer as a result of tourism. Torbay Hospital is ideally situated in the town of Torquay, famed for its sandy beaches and water sports.
