Specialist Physiotherapist (Maternity Cover)

Job Description


We are looking to recruit a capable and experienced team worker to join our Physiotherapy team at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital on a fixed term contract to cover maternity. The contract will be for a minimum of 6 months, with the potential to be extended for a further 3 months. As a qualified Physiotherapist at Spire you can enjoy a very diverse role. We perform a wide range of surgeries including lots of joint replacements along with general surgery, so your role will involve working with our multi-disciplinary team on our inpatient wards to rehabilitate patients and prepare for discharge. Team working is a big part of this role, so successful working relationships with our Nurses, Radiographers and expert Consultants will be a defining factor in delivering the outstanding patient outcomes we are proud of.  Indeed, in this role you will find you can quickly build your clinical knowledge by such close working with fellow clinicians and some of the best regional consultants.

The ideal candidate should have

  • A minimum of 3 years full time post graduate experience with evidence of main focus in musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy.
  • Inpatient orthopaedic experience beneficial but not essential.


Our Physiotherapists also do various outpatient work, meaning that you can retain your skills in this area, and it makes the role continually varied and interesting due to the range of clinical challenges. Our Physiotherapy Managers are committed to the professional development of their Physiotherapists, ensuring that you will enjoy the benefit of constantly learning new skills. This will be through methods as diverse as formal teaching, observation, peer review and reflection, always with Spire’s focus on learning from each other.  Because we are always developing our services at Spire things never stand still, so you’ll need to be able to embrace change. This change can often mean opportunities for learning and advancement, whether that is helping develop clinical protocols for a new service, specialising in a clinical area, or eventually leading a team.
