Job Description

An exciting opportunity for Band 6 Specialist Psychosocial Intervention Workers to join established specialist addiction teams in Leeds. The post will involve an outpatient clinic and will focus on the delivery of evidence based, manualised psychosocial interventions for mainly addiction, and some dual diagnosis service users. The addiction psychosocial interventions will focus on motivation for change, addressing alcohol and/or drug use behaviour and establishing and maintaining lifestyle change. The successful candidate should be familiar with addiction psychosocial interventions, such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural coping skills, and social behaviour and network therapy. There are also opportunities to provide psychological interventions for underlying mental health problems. Approaches such as mindfulness, emotion regulation, anxiety management, cognitive behavioural therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy are all on offer within the specialist team. Experience of such approaches are an advantage, but training and development are provided. The successful candidate will join a supportive multi-disciplinary team, and supervision is provided by the service psychologist as well as within the MDT.

There may also be an opportunity to undertake this role on a 12 month secondment basis. Please state in your application if you would be interested in this.
