We are Sirona care & health, a Community Interest Company committed to providing integrated health and social care services to people across Bath & North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire. For us, it’s about the personal approach; we take pride in what we do and deliver the high standard of care that we’d expect for ourselves and our families.
In return we offer an excellent range of benefits including generous holiday entitlement, paid enhancements for bank holiday/night working (where applicable), a contributory pension scheme (including, for some roles, the NHS and Local Government pension schemes), a planned induction program, extensive learning and development opportunities, health and wellbeing programmes, flexible working patterns, staff excellence awards, childcare vouchers, in-house physiotherapy support and more!
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a newly commissioned Community Respiratory Team in South Gloucestershire working in partnership with North Bristol Trust providing a specialist integrated pathway for people with COPD and providing assessment and review for people who have been prescribed oxygen. This new initiative will enable service users to be supported at home and in the local community thus preventing unnecessary hospital visits and admissions. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Physiotherapist to work with other experienced nurses and physiotherapists to provide specialist assessment and treatment for people with COPD, including Pulmonary Rehabilitation, ensuring delivery of high quality, evidence based person-centred care. You will provide support and education to enable people with COPD to better understand their condition, improving their health and wellbeing and promoting self-management. You will also work closely with the Team Lead and Clinical Specialists to implement, develop and evaluate this new service.
This post is a permanent appointment for 375 hours per week. The service is currently required to work 800 – 1700 over 5 days out of seven days per week. The team will be based at Leap Valley Medical Centre, Downend, Bristol with other Sirona community services. These newly built premises offer office and clinic space as well as onsite parking. The majority of visits will take place in the community and staff will be provided with ipads to support remote working.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in the treatment and management of COPD and understand the impact of this long term condition on the individual and their families.
Regular supervision will be provided by the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and ongoing CPD is actively encouraged and supported. This post also offers the opportunity to work closely with highly skilled and experienced clinicians in North Bristol Trust and with the Impact Team which provides a similar service in Bath and North and East Somerset.
Pay scales between £2699600 and £3519300 pro rata and depending on experience. NHS pensions honoured and available.
